A taste of the future

EXPLORING PATHWAYS Managatang P-12 College is leading the way when it comes to preparing students for an abundance of career options.

Quoting recent data, the school stated that students currently completing school will have more than 15 jobs and careers in their lifetime.

For this reason, Manangatang P-12 College has a strong focus on future pathways exploration.

The College has partnerships with the Northern and Murray Mallee LLENs as well as local businesses who facilitate visits to a range of industries and workplaces across the region.

Employability skills are developed through the extensive curriculum offerings, work experience, Student Representative Council and leadership, careers and industry programs.

This year, secondary students have already visited workplaces around Robinvale, Euston, Wemen, Manangatang and Swan Hill. They have seen first-hand over 100 career and trade opportunities just in the local area.

Some highlights have been grading wool at Tamaleuca Merino Stud, watching a horse dentist perform a procedure at O’Shannassy’s Equine Facility, seeing the science behind turning malt barley into vodka at Osta Distillery and a boxing session at Specialised Fitness.

Primary students participated in the GRIP leadership conference in Mildura where they connected with students from all around the region to brainstorm solutions to global problems.

At Manangatang P12 College, students are encouraged to pursue what they enjoy.

A career path can be right on your local doorstep or take you all over the world.
