SuniTAFE supports career planning

THE TAFE Skills and Jobs team will be available to have a chat with prospective students about their career goals and pathways at the Swan Hill SuniTAFE Open Day.

Skills and Jobs Centre manager Karen Chynoweth said the four staff available on the day could provide information, facilitate campus tours and arrange appointments at a time that suited students in person, online or over the phone.

“Our qualified staff is here to guide anyone through their next steps in education, career planning and gaining employment with job seeking tips and ideas, and support with resumes, cover letters and interview skills,” Ms Chynoweth said.

“We’re a free one-stop-shop for planning your future and figuring out where you need to go and who to talk to.”

The Skills and Jobs Centre has cultivated relationships with secondary schools, employers and community organisations to facilitate smooth transitions for service users and aims to continue building its network to meet more needs.

“To have access to a service like Skills and Jobs is a fantastic opportunity for people to ask those questions they’re a little worried about asking, and I would recommend that people use the service to the full extent,” Ms Chynoweth said.

“Come along and start the convo – you don’t know where it’ll take you, and it might help you reach your end goal faster than you thought.”
