Beverford is making a difference

BEVERFORD Primary School is leaving a lasting mark in the community.

With a strong focus on individualised education, a diverse curriculum, and active community involvement, Beverford is a school where students truly thrive.

The school’s tailored approach ensures each student is supported in reaching their full potential, both academically and socially.

Principal Phil Cox said every student has an individualised program.

“We focus not just on academics, but on well-being too,” he said.

“This commitment to holistic development ensures that students excel academically while building essential social and emotional skills that will benefit them throughout life.

“Beverford runs a comprehensive well-being program grounded in the core values of respect, responsibility, and resilience.

“Weekly lessons with classroom teachers provide students with the support they need to grow into well-rounded, confident individuals ready to face the challenges of the future.”

In addition to its well-being initiatives, Beverford offers a broad range of specialist programs, including PE, science, STEM, ICT, and the arts.

“We’d like to break the myth that small schools can’t offer these opportunities,” Mr Cox said.

“Our students enjoy visual and performing arts, sports, and inquiry-based learning, just like those in larger schools.”

Beverford is deeply embedded in the local community, with strong connections to families who are actively involved in school life. Frequent communication, volunteer opportunities, and ongoing family support create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students, fostering a sense of belonging and unity.

Later this year, the school will celebrate its centenary, marking 100 years of education in the region.

“We’re incredibly proud of our history and excited for the future,” Mr Cox said.

“We encourage anyone interested to contact the school and be part of the centenary celebrations.”

Beverford’s annual Easter Hat Parade and raffle on the April 4 is another example of the school’s strong community spirit.

The junior school leads this fundraising effort, with families donating raffle prizes to support the hospital’s MRI appeal.

“We typically have up to 10 baskets full of goodies to raffle, and the community’s generosity makes a real difference,” Mr Cox said.
