JANUARY 23
4pm-5pm: Pop-up games. Reclink, in partnership with YouthInc, will be holding some pop-up lawn games. All inclusive – no experience needed, pop in and play some fun games. This is a free, youth focused event – drug, alcohol and vape free. Bocce, Kubb, Down Ball, giant board games, Finska, foot golf, music, food.
JANUARY 24
2pm-3pm: Clay pot painting. All materials supplied, including ideas to get you started – or choose to go with your own creation. All participants receive a free packet of flower seeds. This workshop is open to children aged five years and over, so bring your siblings or parent and join in the fun. Bookings essential, children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.
JANUARY 25
2pm-4pm: Lego at the Library. Come along and enjoy the fun with our special Lego at the Library sessions these school holidays. Complete one of the many challenges or enjoy free-play using your imagination to make a fantastic creation. Free for ages 3+, children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.
7pm-8pm: Twilight Tales. Come along to our Australiana storytime. We’re going for a stroll through the Australian bush to see what animals we can find. There will be stories, songs and rhymes, followed by a craft activity as we sit around in our pyjamas eating pizza. Free for ages 3+. Bookings essential.
JANUARY 26 – Australia Day Celebrations
Woorinen – 7am-9am: Woorinen Progress Association. Venue: Woorinen South Community Centre.
Nyah – 7am-11.30pm: Australia Day breakfast 8am at Nyah West Park, gold coin donation. After breakfast will be a flag raising ceremony followed by Junior Citizen Award. The Lions Citizen of the year presentation. Guest speaker: Ben Sheridan – organiser of Echuca Discovery programs for people with disabilities. Please bring your own chair and water.
3pm-7pm: Australia Day Pool Party – come and join us for a fun afternoon surrounded by an Aussie themed i-Pod shuffle, free sausage sizzle, the ice cream van, lawn games, raffle prizes and a great pool.
Swan Hill – 7am to 9am: Australia Breakfast at Swan Hill RSL Club. All-you-can-eat breakfast buffet $15 per person. Aussie lunch and happy hour 12pm-2pm. Dinner $20 parma and schooner 5.30pm-8.30pm.
9am to 11.30am: Swan Hill Town Hall, doors will open at 9am. Free event with formal proceedings to commence at 9.30am – live entertainment from Swan Hill and District Band, morning tea will be provided. Community members coming together to reflect, respect and celebrate Australia Day.
11am-7pm: Family fun at the Swan Hill Pool. Free waterslide between 3pm and 5pm. Dive competition from 1pm with prizes up for grabs. Free sausage sizzle, loads of fun for the whole family.
3pm-6pm: Australia Day entertainment at the Swan Hill Club. Enjoy a free barbecue in the beer garden between 3pm-4pm along with live music featuring Equalize until 6pm.
Manangatang – 7.30am to 11.30am: Manangatang Improvement Group. Venue: Manangatang Outdoor Pool.
Piangil and Tooleybuc – 7.30am: Tooleybuc Piangil & District Action Group. Breakfast 7.30am, entry by donation. Raffles, duck race. All welcome. Venue: Mensforth Park, Tooleybuc.

Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery – SALON NAIVE
Immerse yourself in a bevy of naive Australian paintings hung in the traditional salon style, showcasing the many works the gallery is renowned for, including recent acquisitions and also favourites by Sam Byrne, Lorna Chick and Henri Bastin.
Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery – ON THE LAND
Mark Dober is a landscape painter who lives in Castlemaine, central Victoria. He makes his work on site in the surrounding forest and pastoral landscape. Mark also paints further afield, and will be undertaking a residency in the region to make work for his exhib ition of wall-sized watercolours at Swan Hill Regional Gallery.

Swan Hill’s longest running art group, Mallee Artist Swan Hill, will celebrate with a range of works spanning its 21-year history. Past and present members come together showcasing a variety of talents in this diverse and uplifting retrospective. All welcome to the end- of-year exhibition opening and celebration.

This collection of drawing, painting and ceramics has been created by students from the Koori Cultural Arts Course at Swan Hill Sunraysia Institute of TAFE during 2022. Comprising of both Elders and younger stud ents, the group has worked together to produce a mix of Koori contemporary and traditional artworks and ceramics.
