THE beloved children’s book Possum Magic is set to come alive for young audiences at the Swan Hill Town Hall next month.
The show combines live action, stage magic, an original soundscape, elements of puppetry and projected animation by Monkey Baa Theatre Company’s award-winning creative team.
The story, written by Mem Fox and Julie Vivas and adapted by Eva Di Cesare and Sandra Eldridge, follows the story of Grandma Poss and Hush.
Grandma Poss loves making magic and uses one of her spells to make Hush invisible.
But being invisible isn’t all it is cracked up to be, and Hush goes on a whimsical journey to cities around Australia to find the food that will make her visible again.
The show has received rave reviews from across the nation.
“Monkey Baa Theatre Company’s international reputation, sprinkle it with some marvellous acting, mix through music, dance, screen animations, add half a lamington and you have ‘people food’ for the soul,” ArtsHub said.
The Swan Hill show will take place on Tuesday, May 16, with performances at 10.30am and 1pm. The recommended age group for this show is 3 to 8.
Tickets are avaialable online at swanhilltownhall.com or at the town hall bookings office.
