Abba dabba do!

THE hamlet of Tooleybuc may only have a population of about 200 people but that doesn’t mean it’s a slouch when it comes to providing great musical acts for the region.

Tooleybuc Sporting Club is embarking on a schedule of bimonthly entertainment for its 3000 members and the wider regional community.

It kicks off tonight with SOS – A tribute to the songs of Abba.

The dinner and show program starts at 6.15pm.

The highly successful Melbourne tribute act is bringing the high-energy, fully choreographed Abba show to life to the stage at Tooleybuc.

Performing greatest hits from the Swedish super group mixed with a selection of the hottest disco tracks from the 70s, SOS takes audiences on a wild ride back to the party decade when Abba ruled the dance floor.

The group comes complete with fantastic costumes, animated Abba dance moves, a bit of comedy and they even don Swedish accents for the show.

Club chief executive John Cameron said the club was putting its toe in the water running entertainment since the pandemic shutdowns.

“We started running a jazz festival earlier this year and a country muster that went over a couple of days and they both went particularly well.

“So we thought, well we are brave enough to now to have a go and bring some quality bands and we are hoping that it gets a good response.

“Like a lot of clubs that struggled through COVID we are making our own revival,” Mr Cameron said.

The other upcoming acts include The Bee Gees Revival in August, Everly Brothers and Buddy Holly tribute shows in October.
