SATURDAY

8am: Lake Boga Foreshore parkrun is a free, fun and friendly weekly 5km course. It’s the best way to kick off the weekend. Walk, jog, run, volunteer. It’s free, but register before your first run. More information at www.parkrun.com.au/lakebogaforeshore

9am-noon: Kerang Community Market features fresh produce, plants, crafts, bric-a-brac, jams, sauces and preserves.

All day: Central Murray Football Netball League round 10. Swan Hill v Lake Boga, Tooleybuc-Manangatang v Koondrook-Barham, Mallee Eagles v Woorinen, NNW United v Balranald, Cohuna v Tyntynder, Kerang has the bye.

2pm-4.30pm: Mark Vincent tribute to Mario Lanza and The Three Tenors. Theatre style seating at Swan Hill Town Hall. 6.30pm-8.30pm: Manangatang P-12 College bogan bingo at Manangatang Recreation Reserve. Tables of 10. Cash only event. License bar until 1am. No BYO. Bring your own table nibbles. Barbecue dinner. SUNDAY

9am: Swan Hill Motorcycle Club motocross round 2. Spectators welcome.

MONDAY

10.30am-11.30am: Adventures with Alice at Swan Hill Regional Library. Suitable for ages 3-5. Children will take part in a mini move and groove session before following a very special path, created with climbing equipment from the Swan Hill Toy Library, to the craft table for a themed activity. Bookings required. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.

1pm-5pm: Minecraft at Swan Hill Regional Library. For ages 5 and older. Free entry. Play alone or bring a friend. Haven’t played before? Don’t worry, volunteer Alex will be on hand to help. This is a pop-in-session: come and go as you please. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.

1pm-5pm: VR pop-up play at Swan Hill Regional Library. For ages 12 and older. Free entry. Have some out of this world fun with our PlayStation virtual reality headset. Join an outlaw band of immortal pirates and fight your way to glory across the galaxy or jump into the combat ring to fight giant robots. Bookings required. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.


TUESDAY

10am-11am: School holiday program at Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery. Create a Coolamon bowl using Sculpt It and bark. Complete it with your own designs using patterns and symbols from traditional language. Cost $5. Bookings essential

9.30am for 10am: Social bowls at Nyah. Names in before 9.30am for 10am start. $10 per person includes lunch.

 


WEDNESDAY

2pm-4pm: Lego at Swan Hill Regional Library. For ages 3 and above. Free entry. Come along and enjoy the fun. Complete one of the many challenges or enjoy free-play using your imagination to make a fantastic creation. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.

6.30pm-8.30pm: Swan Hill Fish Focus Forum at One28 Doors. Two freshwater legends, Colby Lesko and Lubib Pfeiffer, will share their fishing tips at an event in Swan Hill, in support of the conservation work of Ozfish. Registration is essential at info@ozfish.org.au. Food will be available throughout the evening.


THURSDAY

10am-11am: School holiday program at Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery. Printmaking collage. Create your own river scene by foam printing and collaging scenery around the river. Using native species in your design you will learn two new techniques with a traditional story telling aspect. Cost $5. Bookings essential.

2pm-3pm: Harry Potter magic at Swan Hill Regional Library. For ages 5 and older. Free entry. Join Hermione and the Magic Sorting Hat at the library. Once you have been sorted into your Hogwarts House, there will be a story, magical craft and a fun quiz to test your Harry Potter knowledge. Bookings required. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.

6pm-8pm: Barefoot bowls at Tooleybuc Sporting Club. Names in by 5.45pm on the night or message Danielle on 0403 548 149. Open to all ages and abilities. Finger food provided. Wear flat shoes, thongs or bare feet. No experience necessary.


ALL WEEKEND

Friday and Saturday, 7.30pm: The Wedding Singer musical. Based on the Hollywood movie comes a hilarious musical comedy that celebrates all the fun of the 80s. Tickets cost $33 for adults, $28 concession and $23 children. Tickets available online through trybooking.com.

ALL MONTH

June 26-July 7, 10am-5.30pm: Swan Hill Regional Library school holiday program. Creation station set up in the children’s area for the duration of the school holidays. Children can draw, cut and paste, colour in, complete activity booklets and make all sorts of creations from a range of recycled items. Suitable for all ages. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult. Also during school holidays is magic search and find. Suitable for ages 5 and older. Collect a form at the front desk, find all the magical posters throughout the library, fill in the letter found on the bottom of each poster numbered 1-13. What words do they spell? Collect a prize when you have completed the form and go into the draw for a chance to win a $50 Swan Hill gift card. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.

June 17-July 30: Tuesday-Friday (10am5pm), Saturday and Sunday (10am-4pm). Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery exhibition Milloo Dreaming (This Time In A Wetland). Following a year of extraordinary rainfall and flooding, replenishing the floodplains of our region, First Nations artists from the Swan Hill region respond with traditional weaving, drawings, paintings, sculptures, ceramics, historical artefacts and photography. Milloo Dreaming allows us to reflect on the deep connection between our First Nations people and the extensive network of rivers, creeks, billabongs, lakes and floodplains. They will be complemented by works from young First Nations artists in the studio gallery.
