Pioneer Settlement’s Laser Light Show set for a pause

Swan Hill’s famous Laser Light Show is being upgraded and added to, but this will mean that the current show will be taking a short break.

Installation works for the impressive brand-new show, ‘Legends of the Mallee’, will be undertaken during July.

Pioneer Settlement’s general manager Jessica Warburton said shows would be suspended from Sunday July 9 and reinstated at a date to be confirmed in late July.

“Pioneer Settlement recognises that suspension of the show will cause some temporary inconvenience; however, this short-term disruption will lead to long-term gain with the launch of our brand-new show,” Ms Warburton said.

“We are overjoyed to be launching a brand-new show for our community and visitors to enjoy.

“The new show has been much anticipated following significant but unavoidable installation delays caused by high river events.

“We are delighted to finally be moving forward and providing our community and visitors with a new experience.”

Ms Warburton said the new show, ‘Legends of the Mallee’, captured the spirit of the Mallee and complimented their current ‘Heartbeat of the Murray’ show.

“Without giving too much away, ‘Legends of the Mallee’ will explore what the Mallee is, from many angles, telling the story of this unique and wonderful part of the world.

“The show dives into its dry and dusty nature, the people who make it the place it is both past and present, its wartime connections with the Catalinas and how it thrives today in a modern world – it is sure to impress,” she said.

From August 2023 ‘Heartbeat of the Murray’ and ‘Legends of the Mallee’ will run on alternate nights.
