Sunday set with busking legend

Free Entertainment at Town Hall

Sunday afternoons in Swan Hill are becoming a great time and place for entertainment.

This week is no exception as the Swan Hill Town Hall Performing Arts and Conference Centre (PACC) plays host to another free musical event.

Grim Fawkner will perform an unplugged acoustic performance that will be perfect for a winter afternoon at Mully’s Place, the renamed café and bar area of the PACC.

An independent artist, Grim has played hundreds of shows around the world, self-released two singles, four EPs, one live album, one comedy Christmas album (A Very Grim Christmas) and is currently recording his debut full length album For The Edification of Clementine.

Grim Fawkner is no stranger to stages and streets across the globe and at home, the epitome of the itinerant musician, he draws together tales and musings from his travels and is as likely to deliver them in tender ballad form as he is intricate and upbeat roots/country/blues.

Nods to his skills as a songwriter and a performer include being voted “Melbourne’s Best Busker” by the Herald Sun and popular vote, an endorsement by Cole Clark guitars, a Byron Bay Bluesfest performance, opening slots for Marcus King Band, The Waifs and The Badloves, a national tour support for Kasey Chambers Campfire Tour and opening for Once the musical with his own numbers.

This is the third in the new series of free musical performances presented at Mully’s Place, the renamed café and bar area at the Swan Hill Town Hall PACC.

Simon Myers, Performing Arts and Venue Manager at Swan Hill Rural City Council, said council is committed to presenting free events such as this to present a diverse array of music for the local community throughout the year.

“We are delighted to have Grim back in Swan Hill after he was such a hit with the audience when he opened for RocKwiz Live! Under the Stars in March,” Mr Myers said.

“Supporting emerging talent is a major element of the Unplugged at The Bar series.”
