SATURDAY

8am: Lake Boga Foreshore parkrun is a free, fun and friendly weekly 5km course. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. Register before your first run. More details at www.parkrun.com.au/lakebogaforeshore

All day: Central Murray league preliminary finals at Tooleybuc Recreation Reserve. Reserves at 12.25pm: Woorinen v Lake Boga. Seniors at 2.30pm: Kerang v NNW United.

9am-noon: Swan Hill Anglican Boot Sale & Cottage Craft at the Anglican function centre. A large variety of stalls including books, household items, craft, fruit, honey, plants and vegetables. Barbecue and Joan’s scones available.

7pm: Live music at Swan Hill RSL Club featuring Anna Bowie.


SUNDAY

11am: Lake Boga Park & Brag Show & Shine. Park up from 11am in the main street. A gathering of like-minded people who want to show off their toys. Anything with a “rumble” is welcome. Winner chosen by the public and announced at 2pm.

10am-12.30pm: Repair Cafe. Bring your items for fixing to the Men’s Shed at Neighbourhood House. Volunteers will assist you in repairing your item. For more details, email repaircafe@shnh.org.au.

1pm: Spinning wheel fundraiser for Swan Hill Arthritis Self Help Group at Swan Hill RSL Club.

3pm: Bingo at Swan Hill RSL Club.

3pm: Paul Costa and Amber Lawrence at Mully’s Cafe. Town hall general admittance tickets $30. SEPTEMBER 18

1pm-5pm: Minecraft (ages five and older) and VR pop-up play (ages 12 and older) at Swan Hill Regional Library. Volunteer Alex will be on hand to help. Have some out-of-this-world fun with the PlayStation virtual reality headset. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.

7.30pm: Swan Hill Rock ‘n’ Roll Club at Murray Downs Golf & Country Club.


SEPTEMBER 19

10am: School holiday activity at Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery. Design a footy jumper and create a mascot for the Tasmanian team. Bookings essential. Workshops are for primary-aged children. Cost $5 per child or free if you hold a family gallery membership.

10.30am-11.30am: Join Bella from Bunnings Swan Hill for a fun and creative activity of pet rocks at Swan Hill Regional Library. Create your own unique pet rocks. Bookings required, suitable for ages four and older. Free entry. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.

11am: Swan Hill races at Swan Hill Jockey Club. Gates open at 11am. Free entry.

1pm-4pm: School holiday barefoot bowls at Nyah District Bowling Club. Free for school children and family members. Bowls supplied or bring your own.

7.15pm: Bingo at Tooleybuc Sporting Club.


SEPTEMBER 20

2pm-4pm: Lego at Swan Hill Regional Library. Suitable for ages three and older. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.

10.30am-11.15am: The Mik Maks: Songs to Make Us Grow! Theatre style seating at Swan Hill Town Hall. Tickets: Adult $26, child (14yrs and under) $22, family (two adults, two children) $76. 2pm-3pm: Teddy Bear Hospital at Swan Hill Regional Library. A unique, educational program created and run by volunteer Monash University medical students. It aims to familiarise children to health care environments and medical treatments in a fun and interactive way. Bookings preferred, but not essential. Suitable for ages fives and older. Free entry. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.

10am: Paw Patrol movie premiere fundraiser at Showbiz Cinemas for Swan Hill Community Toy Library. Tickets $16.50, adults at children’s prices.

10am: School holiday activity at Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery. Washi tape and watercolour pattern exploration. Cost $5 per child or free if you hold a family gallery membership. Bookings essential.

11.30am: Bingo at Tooleybuc Sporting Club.

8am or 1pm: Ladies golf tournament at Tooleybuc. Cost is $20 per person.


ALL WEEKEND

Saturday and Sunday: Swan Hill Sporting Car Club test and tune event. Saturday afternoon from 11.30am. Racing from 1pm. Finish by 5pm. Twilight evening from 7pm. Finish by midnight. Sunday scrutineering from 8.30am. Racing from 10am. Finish by 5pm.


ALL MONTH

September 16-October 1, 10am-3pm: Disc golf at Nyah West. Books required.

September 18-28, 10am-5.30pm: School holiday program at Swan Hill Regional Library. Creation station suitable for all ages. Space search and find and paper flower making suitable for ages five and older. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.

August 5-October 1, Tuesday-Friday, 10am-5pm, Saturday-Sunday, 10am-4pm: Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery footy exhibitions. Discover the perfect blend of art and Australian rules football at Home Ground and Beyond the Boundary exhibitions. A unique experience that celebrates a football culture and creativity through photography, ceramics, paintings and prints.

August 1-October 1, 7pm-11pm: The Gem: The Final Journey exhibition is a celebration of the 60th anniversary of the arrival of PS Gem in Swan Hill. Discover the challenges faced by the crew and learn about their experiences. Projected on the side of the PS Gem is a 13-minute audio-visual presentation documenting this last journey. Free to watch from Monash Drive (just outside the Pioneer Settlement).
