ABBA-solutely fabulous show in Swan Hill

IT was an almost-packed house last Friday night when a top ABBA tribute band played at the Swan Hill Town Hall.

The excitement in the air was palpable as the performance got under way, and some of the audience was up and ready to dance from the first note played.

By the time intermission was over and the group came back for their second set, the floor was alive with people from teenagers to Baby Boomers dancing and singing to the hits of the Swedish super group.

Cast members said it was fantastic to get out into the regional areas.

“Last night we were in Mildura and we drove along the Murray and we always have a look at the local sites and see what’s happening in the area,” a spokesperson said.

“We have been to Swan Hill a few times and we have always played at this theater.

“It has a really nice atmosphere and has a historic feel to it.

“You can feel the ghosts of the past.”

There was more than just the classic ABBA songs on the agenda, including also a little AC/DC and Bon Jovi.
