Rock legend returns

RENOWNED Australian songwriter, singer Ross Wilson, the man behind Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock, will perform in Swan Hill as part of his 50 Years of Hits Tour.

He has family connections in St Arnaud and is looking forward to performing at the Swan Hill Town Hall.

Wilson said that the tour is a celebration of Daddy Cool and all the things that got him into the music business, this tour “has a bit of a theatrical experience”.

“Traditionally, my music is dance music, to get people off their tails,” Wilson said.

“Sometimes we have to instruct the security not to make people sit back down again.

“I’m very fortunate that people remember a lot of the songs I have recorded or written.

“There are a couple of main eras. There’s Daddy Cool, which has left an indelible mark, and another career with Mondo Rock, which was a more grown up me.

“I then started doing solo recordings and I’ve now just put out an EP with new songs and I’m working on an album.”

With 26 ARIA Top 40 hits to his credit as a singer, songwriter and producer, Ross Wilson is one of Australia’s most awarded, respected and well-known artists.

Ross Wilson and his band, the Peaceniks, will perform on Saturday, November 4 at 8pm. Tickets are $67, available from swanhilltownhall.com
