Dance around the world

GET set to take a journey around the world as the Dance It Up Swan Hill students take the stage for their annual recital on Saturday.

Dance It Up On Tour will take the audience on a trip using dance and music to travel to some wonderful places, ending on Broadway in New York.

Dance It Up studio owner Nikki Capone told The Guardian this performance would be the culmination of all the dancers’ hard work throughout the year.

“Our end of year production is what we love – it is our highlight of the year,” she said.

“To see our kids on stage and to see them just get out there and have the best time is just amazing, and that’s what we do it for – to see the smiles on their faces.”

The performances will showcase various dance styles, including hip-hop, contemporary, ballet and acrobatic, as well as an aerial hoop number.

Students are aged from two up.

This year the performance has moved to the Swan Hill FLO campus, making preparations a little more difficult in having to bring in and set up all the sound and lighting equipment.

But Ms Capone said it has been made easier by the team at the FLO campus, sponsors and her dance staff.

“We’ve had a few teething issues, but it seems to be going well and we will have a lot of fun,” she said.

“We have got a great team behind us this year, and the staff are absolutely wonderful and are very passionate about dance.

“We are super excited.”

Dance It Up On Tour will take place on Saturday, December 2 at 1pm and 7pm. To buy tickets, visit www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1147151
