FRIDAY

10am-2pm: Family fun day at Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery featuring art making activities and exhibitions. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the gallery lawns. Don’t miss out on this huge day of activities for all ages and skill levels. Art jigsaw puzzles, outdoor table tennis, still-life drawing for fun, playing with clay, traditional Aboriginal basket weaving, ukulele playing, collage making, colour-in, drawing on the drawing wall, printmaking. Free entry.

1.30pm-2.30pm: Safari binoculars at Swan Hill Regional Library. Join Bella of Bunnings Swan Hill for a fun and creative school holiday activity. After sharing the story, What the Animals Saw, kids will make their own binoculars to use for spotting animals in the wild. Also included is a take-home search and find. The activity is for children aged 4 and up. Entry is free but bookings are essential. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.

4.30pm for 5pm: Barefoot bowls at Nyah every Friday until April.

7pm: Live music at Swan Hill RSL Club, featuring That Guy.

7pm-8.30pm: Sunset cruise on PS Pyap with live music featuring Sophie Kelly. Food and champagne along the Murray River. Cost is $75 per person, with additional drinks at bar prices. Boarding from 6.45pm for 7pm departure, returning at 8.30pm. Book through trybooking.com


SATURDAY

8am: Lake Boga Foreshore parkrun. A free, fun and friendly weekly 5km community event. Register before your first run, email lakebogaforeshore@parkrun.com

6.30pm-9.30pm: Live music at Mystic Park Hotel featuring Jok Strapp Duo.


SUNDAY

8.30am-12.30pm: Swan Hill Farmers Market at Riverside Park featuring fresh produce, local entertainment, food and refreshments.

2pm-4pm: Swan Hill Ukulele Group at Swan Hill Club.

4pm-late: Join Mallee Tabletop Games Inc for a social event featuring war games, role-playing, trading card games and board games. This event is for patrons 16 years and older. MONDAY

1pm-5pm: PlayStation VR at Swan Hill Regional Library. Virtual reality is a computer-generated environment with scenes and objects that appear

to be real, making the user feel they are immersed in their surroundings. The activity is for ages 12 and up and entry is free. Volunteers will be on hand to help people to try out this technology.


TUESDAY

10am-11am: Chalky reverse painting at Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery. Create a reverse painting using paint and chalk in this decorative painterly style, inspired by the artwork of Australian artists Rosetta Santucci, Nikki Perzuck, Jill Lewis and Gus Leunig. Bookings are essential. Workshops are for ages six to 12 years. Cost $5 per child or free for holders of a family gallery membership.


THURSDAY

1pm-2.30pm: Bricks 4 Kidz at Swan Hill Regional Library. Spend 90 minutes building motorised technic Lego ferris wheels and create mosaic art works on Lego baseplates using one-stud Lego bricks. There will be templates from Harry Potter, Minions and amusement parks themes.

10am-11am: Magiclay key rings at Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery. Workshops are for ages six to 12 years. Bookings essential. Cost $5 per child or free free for holders of a family gallery membership.


ALL MONTH

January 8, 15 and 22 (1pm-5pm): Minecraft at Swan Hill Regional Library. Play in survival or creative mode, explore, experiment, create or break apart. Bookings are essential. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Until February 4 (Tuesday-Friday, 10am-5pm, Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm): All Around Us at Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery.

The annual end-of-year exhibition by students from the Koori Cultural Arts Course of SuniTAFE. Ceramics, painting and works on paper. Featuring Grace Cunningham-Nicholls, Cassandra Yournier, Michelle Kerr, Roslyn Thorpe and James Khan.

Until January 31: School holiday program at Swan Hill Regional Library. A creation station is set up in the children’s area of the library for the duration of the school holidays, where children can draw, cut, paste construct, colour in, complete activity booklets and make all sorts of creations using recycled items including wool, material, coloured paper and more. Suitable for all ages.

January 10, 17 and 24 (2pm-4pm): Lego at Swan Hill Regional Library. Suitable for ages 3 and older.
