Another Big Year For the Town Hall

THIS year is shaping up as another big year for entertainment in Swan Hill with the town’s premier entertainment venue, the Swan Hill Town Hall, getting an early start to an incredible line-up of big names.

Some have entertained in Swan Hill before and others are making their first visit.

Starting the year off is 8 Ball Aitkin and his band, playing a unique style of swamp-blues, swamp-rock, alternative country, and Americana music on February 4 from 3pm.

He performed at the Swan Hill Club’s Blues Festival in November last year.

Hot on the heels of that performance will be ARIA Award-winning singer Andrew De Silva and his dedication to the late, great Prince on February 10.

The former leading member of R&B group CDB and 2012 Australia’s Got Talent winner, De Silva and his group of touring musicians bring a show that pays tribute to the artist and his music.

Fans of the Purple Rain singer have said that De Silva delivers a performance that is the best in Australia.

The town hall will be lit in purple as a dedication to Prince on the night.

Keeping the momentum going with powerful performances will be Lucy Holmes, who is bringing her 100% Kylie show to Swan Hill on Friday, February 23.

Endorsed by Kylie Minogue as the best Kylie act in the world, Holmes has performed more than 1000 concerts in 18 countries.

During the show there will be 11 full replica costume changes.

Finishing off the month will be the much anticipated Twilight Arts Market on February 24 from 4pm till 7pm, where the Town Hall will be alive with the sights and sounds of art workshops, live music and excited discussion about all things art.

The children are not forgotten, with pantomime Snowy and the Seven Cool Dudes and Children are Stinky included in school holiday performances in April.

There is also a good line up of interactive experiences for the adults as well with the Great Gatsby Ball bringing the town hall back to its heyday with red carpet arrivals on May 25.

Guests are encouraged to dress to fit the era with flapper dresses, hats, feathers and pearls for the ladies and bowties and suits for the men.

Violin cases will be checked at the door.

July will see the return of the very popular Faulty Towers – The Dining Experience, which has been extended to two shows due to its popularity last year.

Performing arts and marketing officer Sharon Brinkman said that the town hall was excited to bring another year of quality entertainment to Swan Hill and the team was excited about the line-up.

More information and tickets are available at www.swanhilltownhall.com or the box office at the town hall.
