SWAN Hill Regional Art Gallery was abuzz last Friday for a family fun day, with a mixture of engaging activities to stimulate creativity.
More than 300 people enjoyed the summer weather on the art gallery lawns for the event, which is held every January while the region is humming with holidaymakers.
Activities included jigsaw puzzles, table tennis, still-life drawing, clay play, traditional Indigenous basket weaving, ukulele playing, collage, colouring-in and printmaking.
The art gallery’s Maryanne Darroch said there were many positive comments about the event.
“It was free and people could join in as they pleased,” she said.
“Some went between inside the gallery and outside as they liked.
“Art is more than just a painting or photograph on a wall, it’s engaging with families and the community of all ages.”
