Spinning around to Kylie hits

TAYLOR Swift and Pink may be causing a sensation across the nation at the moment, but Swan Hill will have its own celebration of pop stardom Friday night.

A full-impact Kylie Minogue extravaganza is promised at the Town Hall when Lucy Holmes brings her tribute to the Australian songstress, 100% Kylie.

The show is filled with not only great music and dancing – plus 11 full-replica costume changes – but also a little comedy and is designed to appeal to all ages.

Holmes has been labelled the best Kylie act in the world by Minogue herself.

Trained in musical theatre singing, dancing and acting, Holmes always envisaged she would end up performing in musicals.

For the past 21 years she has been performing in what she describes as a mini Kylie musical.

Holmes said she always had a strong resemblance to Kylie when she was younger and many people commented on the likeness.

“I was a singer back then and I was doing a bunch of different gigs and I would do a few of her songs, and put on her accent and always got a laugh,” Holmes said.

“Quite a big agent, back in the day, looked up all the tribute shows and said that no one was doing Kylie.

“He said you look like her and sound like her, so we thought we would give it a crack.

“We started it and 21 years later it has taken us around the world numerous times and we still love doing it.

“It was pretty wild when Kylie Minogue actually endorsed the show.”

There are still some tickets available at the Town Hall for the show, which gets under way at 8pm Friday night.
