Enjoy chat about book, TV and film

LAKE Boga resident Pauline Hull has taken inspiration from the libraries of Gannawarra Shire, and has decided to host an afternoon of informal social chat about all things reading, as well as film and television.

Unlike a formal book club where there is a set reading list, Ms Hull wanted to organise a community get together so that people can talk about not only a book they have read but magazine or newspaper article, or a television show or movie that has inspired them.

It will start at 2pm on Sunday, at 234 Murray Valley Highway, Lake Boga, with Ms Hull putting on an afternoon tea.

Ms Hull said she just wanted to encourage people to get together and talk about things they been recently reading or watching.

“I am going to start it off with something I have been reading about women in medicine,” Ms Hull said.

“It is just to get people together and encourage them to use a bit grey matter. Getting into winter people don’t get out as much.

“It is not a formal book club but more just an informal book chat with a cup of tea or coffee.

“I am happy to run it every month, we will just see how it goes and what sort of response and interest there is.

“Everyone is welcome to come and join us.”
