Bromley wins watercolour

A watercolour painting of the Murray River has been won by Joe Bromley in a raffle run by the Mallee Artists of Swan Hill.

The raffle was held in conjunction with their Mother’s Day Devonshire Tea and Art Exhibition at the Grain Shed on May 10 and 11.

The painting was by well-known Ballarat artist Jon Lam, and is valued at $450.

The event raised $1610 for the Cure Cancer Australia Foundation for research projects, the raffle raised more than $800 towards the total funds.

Guests enjoyed fresh homemade scones along with a cup of tea as they sat and talked with artists as well as joining with them in drawing and painting.
