The Black Sorrows show is music to our ears

LEGENDARY rocker Joe Camilleri and his band The Black Sorrows will bring their high-energy show to Swan Hill Town Hall in November.

Front man and saxophonist for two leading bands of the 1970s, 80s and 90s, Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons and The Black Sorrows, the 76-year-old musician leads a dynamic show of roots-soaked blues rock featuring many radio anthems.

Camilleri, a consummate entertainer, will not leave audiences wanting as The Black Sorrows show why they are an ARIA award-winning group. Camilleri has been labelled a living legend by Rolling Stone magazine.

With two million album sales to their credit, the band has been performing and touring, with a fluid line-up of musicians, since 1984.

The elasticity of the group has allowed 32 Australian musicians, including vocalists Vika and Linda Bull, to contribute their talents.

One of Australia’s most successful touring bands, with 18 albums in their catalogue, The Black Sorrows started life “just for a bit of fun” after the breakup of Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons.

Playing inner-city cafes around Melbourne and selling albums out of the boot of a car, they now include Europe on their tour schedule, performing an average of 150 shows annually in Australia and abroad.
