Trio promises night of laughter

THREE comedians will walk into the Moulamein Bowling Club this Saturday to provide pub goers and comedy lovers with a night of laughter.

From 6.30pm on November 23, Nick Capper, Evan Hocking and Sarah Maree-Cameron will be taking their stand-up routines from the stages of Melbourne International Film Festival and Adelaide Fringe to Moulamein.

Host and comedian Sarah Maree-Cameron said the three were excited to come show Moulamein their comedic chops as they make the road trip up to town.

“We just want to make sure that we’re making Moulamein laugh and making people have a great time,” she said.

“I’ve gigged with Nick and Evan a lot for many years, and I can safely say that all three of us love to have a laugh along with the audience as well.”

Nick Capper has been described as “Australia’s favourite agricultural comedian” due to his upbringing in rural Queensland.

Mr Capper has appeared on many TV shows and commercials including ABC TV’S Comedy up late as well as being a regular on podcasts “The Little Dum Dum Club” and “Phone Hacks”.

Melbourne-based comedian Evan Hocking has toured all over Australia, performing in sold out comedy festivals with his “larrikin-style laid back humour”.

Mr Hocking has supported some of the biggest names in Australian comedy including Lawrence Mooney, Dave O’Neil, Dave Hughes, Dave Thornton and Nazeem Hussien.

He has also had acting roles in the ABC mini series Fires and Channel 9’s Mini series Informer 3838.

Sarah Maree-Cameron has been working in TV and radio for over 15 years hosting shows on Triple M, Fox FM and NOVA 100 and has taken her comedic chops to many sold out festival shows around the country including Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Adelaide Fringe.

“It’s really special to be part of things like the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Adelaide fringe and all those other big festivals,” Ms Cameron said.

“But I personally love getting out to the regional towns and taking our comedy there.”

“The people who are coming to the show are usually really happy that we’re there.”

Ms Cameron hopes that the audience will enjoy the variety of humour brought by each comedian’s set on the night.

“When the crowd comes with a great attitude and a great energy, we can give it back tenfold,” she said.

“And it’s always great to speak to the locals before and after the gig. Sometimes they relate to parts of our set and come and talk to us about it.”

Moulamein Bowling Club manager Courtney Atkins said staff and regular customers were excited for the upcoming gig.

“A show like this is a first for us,” she said.

“We all just very excited and can’t wait to laugh all night.”

Tickets can be bought online at www.trybooking.com/CUOKQ for $25 per person.
