A BUMPER summer grain harvest has been recorded across Victoria, with more than 320,000 extra tonnes delivered to receival sites compared to last season.
In its final weekly harvest update on January 30, GrainCorp recorded 3,898,640 million tonnes at its sites in 2022/23.
That’s up from 3.5 million at the same period a year ago.
GrainCorp commented that NSW harvest was mostly complete, with some southern growers still delivering.
Growers in the north of the state are now also setting their sights on the 2023 sorghum crop.
Victorian growers are still delivering grain into sites across the Wimmera, and Western District regions of the state, which are expected to remain active into February.
The large outload program continues across the GrainCorp network with 280,000 tonnes of grain outloaded during the past week.
Many sites are now open by appointment only.
Growers have been encouraged to communicate with their local site managers regarding opening hours, deliveries and segregations.
