Welcome to season 2023

WELCOME to The Guardian and Gannawarra Times’ seventh annual football and netball season preview.

With summer now behind us, everyone’s attention quickly turns to the most popular of our region’s sporting pastimes.

While every club across the Central Murray, Golden Rivers, North Central and Loddon Valley football and netball leagues have been busily preparing for the season ahead – so too have our team, producing the largest and most comprehensive season preview guide to have been compiled.

Inside this year’s expanded 88-page edition, you will find in-depth coverage of our region’s four leagues – as well as analysis of Heathcote District Football Netball League club Leitchville-Gunbower and our region’s only BJFL girls side Woorinen.

As always, our team have worked tirelessly to provide you with all the up-to-date information on all 36 teams our publications cover – with each club’s ins and outs, key players and team profiles across both football and netball.

Rest assured, our coverage won’t stop there. Every Tuesday, from round 1 until grand final day, The Guardian and Gannawarra Times will again be publishing our popular Final Score lift-out – with a comprehensive review of all the weekend’s football and netball action across the CMFNL.

Within each publication, you will also find all the scores and up-to-date information from the Golden Rivers, North Central and Loddon Valley leagues.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the clubs, coaches and players who have given their time and assisted us in making this publication as accurate as possible.

Finally, on behalf of the entire team at The Guardian and Gannawarra Times, we would like to wish all the clubs, players, coaches, volunteers and supporters all the best for season 2023.

May your year be a successful, safe and, above all, enjoyable one. Good luck – and may the best teams win!
