A SHORTER report this week as the R&R competition was washed out last Thursday.
On Saturday, Blake Gibson had a very good day with +5 in the par competition, well ahead of Bruce Bird with +1 and Murray Gregg finishing even.
Nearest to pins (NTP) went to Trevor Farrant on 2, David Mann on 8 with Murray Gregg taking 11 and 17.
Sunday’s ladies comp was stableford and Sandra Griffiths had the best score with 34 from Ros Dunne with 33. Helen Thies took NTP on 2 and 8, Genevieve Hare on 11 and Ros Dunne on 17.
It was the second round of the men’s club championships and the best score of the day was recorded by Mark Bishop, handing in a nett 70 on countback from Peter Doyle, with Brenton Smyth scoring nett 70.
NTP went to Liam Pascoe on 2, Brenton Smyth on 8, Bruce Winship on 11 and Dennis McGlone on 17.

LADIES first round of the club championships was cancelled due to a very soggy course.
They will be conducted over the next two Wednesdays.
Thursday R&R Stableford was able to play with 14 members heading off to face some very tricky conditions.
However, a winner did emerge, and it was none other than Ken Williams keeping his winning streak going, with a score of 34 points.
In the ball pool were Jack Hewitt and Col Wilkie, both with 33 points.
Only one NTP was claimed, and it was for the 13th. Our president, Terry, will be able to write lots of notes with his new pen.
First round club championships were held on October 8.
A stroke day on Saturday and the winner was Andrew Spitty (+2) 68 = net 70, R/up was Gavin Teasdale (13) 71. Ladies winner was Nola Robinson (28) with 33 pts.
In the ball pool, we had Gav Teasdale, Jack Hewitt (12) 71, Brendan Shields (13) 72, Casey Gillen (19) 72, Tony Laughlin (10) 73, Doug Meehan (5)74, Doug Ellwood (22) 74 and Scott Harry (13) got the last ball also net 74 from a luckless Chris Waterson.
NTP were Graham Wyte on the 3rd, Andrew Spitty 5th, Olive Spitty 9th, Andrew Spitty 13th and Blake Shay on the 16th.
Our first round of men’s championships and the ladies Les Jobling Plate and leaders after the first round are as stated above, Andrew Spitty (+2) leading the men’s with 68 and Nola Robinson (28) the ladies with 33 pts.
After Andrew in A Grade is Doug Meehan 79 and Chris Waterson 80.
In the B Grade, the leader is Gav Teasdale on 84 from Brendan Shields 85 and Scott Harry 87.
In C Grade, it’s Casey Gillen (91), Doug Ellwood (96) and John Murphy (100).
The Les Jobling Plate leader is Nola Robinson on 33 pts closely followed by Chrissy Downs (28) and Jen Waterson (16) both these ladies on 32 pts and Jan Harry (14) and Carol Dear (26) both on 31 pts, so it is very close in the ladies competition.
