C Grade also had to be decided with a countback, this time it was Gordon Parsons (39 points) taking the win over Joey Higgins.

NTPs: 2nd Wayne Such, 5th Mark Warren, 11th Andrew Cameron, 15th Gordon Parsons.

For Saturday’s par event, 95 players took to the field.

This time his +4 (72) score got the win in A Grade over Luke Merritt who registered +2.

B Grade winner Mitchell Croft had a great round of +5 from his 13 handicap, while Rob Hinton found himself in the prizes for the third time this week with +3 good enough for second.

Relatively new golfer Brad Williamson recorded the best score of the day, with his +6 enough to win C Grade from Mark Robertson with +4.

B Grade winner Leigh Evans had 40 points, while Dean Farrell was runner-up with 38 on countback.

Returning visitor Ben Stewart had the best score of the day, with his 42 points getting the job done ahead of Joel Travaglia with 41 points.

NTPs: 2nd Brenton Cruickshank, 5th Matt Harrop, 11th Spencer Mackenzie, 15th Johnathan Hirst

MURRAY DOWNS WOMEN

RAIN put paid to the women’s competition at Murray Downs on Wednesday.

Although quite a few competitors hit off, they were all seeking shelter after a few holes with no one completing their round.

On Saturday, Eilleen Willox enjoyed the hot conditions with a score of +2 from her 25 handicap. Next best was Robyn Bett (23) +1.

Lynne Bishop, Claris Bourne and Margaret Moore all posted square to collect golf balls, and Rhonda Barrow and Margaret Moore were rewarded for accurate shots to the 2nd and 11th.

Casey Frame is well known in netball circles but has now taken to golf in the offseason.

On Sunday she posted 45 points from her 36 handicap to win from fellow netballer Ingrid Condely (32) 41 points. Both girls will have new handicaps when next they step up to the tee.

Olive Spitty (3) 36 points and Kristy Gordon (14) 35 points were next best, and Casey Frame and Tara Free won the nearest the pin prizes.
