MURRAY DOWNS LADIES

JILL Brown was the star of the day at Murray Darling Golf & Country Club on Wednesday.

Competing off a handicap of 35, Jill scored 68 net to claim the February Monthly Medal.

This was Jill’s second medal in a golfing career that has spanned two decades.

Runner-up in Division 2 was Jenny Monahan (31) with 73 net.

Robyn Bett (23) 73 net claimed the major prize in Division 1 from Cassie Barnett (28) 75 net.

Paula Pickert and Rosie Ficarra, both 75 net, led the ball pool and Clare Nalder-Martin claimed the least-putts prize on a countback from Diane Martin with 30.

Pickert was on target, taking out two nearest the pins, with the others going to Ficarra and Shelley Wilkins.

The annual Reciprocal Tournament was held last the weekend, with 220 competitors teeing off each day.

Eight of these players were women and the team of Bev West, Jenny Lynas, Judy McMahon and Kerry Gammon won the local teams’ event, but only by one point.

This was a first for a team of women in this event, although they have come close on other occasions.
