MURRAY DOWNS MEN

DARRYL Domaille took out Tuesday’s par competition, his +1 score enough to get the job done ahead of Sam Davis with -1.

NTPs: 2nd Paul Raudino, 11th Dale Smith.

Thursday’s competition was a two-person Ambrose.

Glenn Palmer and Andrew “Shrek” Petersen claimed honours for the day with net 60, ahead of club professional Matt Docking partnered with Andrew McLean with net 61.5.

Third place was Craig Fletcher and Dale Rogers with net 62.

NTPs: 2nd Glenn Palmer, 5th Andrew Petersen, 11th Craig Fletcher, 15th Rick Austerberry.

The scoring heated up in Saturday’s Stableford comp.

The best score of the day went to A Grade winner Daniel Cruickshank, who fired a one under par round for his 40 points, while Gene Brooks came in second with 38 points on countback.

B Grade winner Lance Stobus also had 40 points to edge out Andrew Cameron in second place with 38 points on countback.

Chris Grant with 39 points got the job done in C Grade ahead of Zac Haywood with 38 points.

Sunday’s Stableford competition had some extremely strong scoring in A Grade.

Jayden Graham struck form with 42 points from his 12 handicap to sneak over the line ahead of Mitchell Croft, who could consider himself a bit stiff to come runner-up with 41 points of his own.

Jesse Wilson had 36 points to win B Grade ahead of Mbindi Davidson with 35 points.


MURRAY DOWNS LADIES

GOLF is a game for all ages and on Wednesday, nonagenarian Marie Cruickshank was testament to this at Murray Downs.

Marie is the most senior competitor who regularly plays 18 holes and put together 38 points from her 31 handicap to claim the prize for the best score of the day.

Pam Blohm (29) 37 points was the Division 2 runner-up.

In Division 1, Carolyn Zambelli (28) 34 points won on a countback from Anne Webb (27).

Lois Tippett and Chris Warburton also scored 34 points to lead the ball pool.

Lynne Bishop claimed the jackpot on the 11th hole and the NTP on the 2nd.

Naomi Domaille and Chris Warburton were successful on the other par threes.

The birdies nest on the par-five 12th hole contained 26 balls, and Anne Webb and Jude Simmonds emptied the nest and shared the bounty.

On Saturday, Nadine Cox reduced her 34 handicap by two shots after she scored 42 points to win from Sally Fearn, whose point score matched her 38 handicap.

Lisa Brady 37 points, Norma Everett 35 points, Jude Simmonds and Mia Hurst 34 points were next best.
