VETERANS

MORE than 40 veteran golfers enjoyed the hospitality of the Kerang Golf Club on Tuesday for the Stableford event, where the greens even had automatic ball washers.

Thanks also to the ladies for organising lunch.

The ladies A grade winner was Marg Learmonth with 37 points, with Marg Moore finishing as runner-up with 33 points.

The B grade winner was Jill Marshall with 34 points with Ruth McAlister finishing runner-up.

The men’s A grade winner was Rob Male with 36 points, with the runner-up Ian Gammon with 35 points on a countback, while the B grade winner was Ron Schultze with 37 points ahead of Graham Learmonth on 33 points.

The nearest the pins were won by Marg Learmonth, Pauline Jones (twice), Jenny Lynas, Ian Gammon (three times), Rob Male and Rick Austerbury

The ball pool was won by Rosie Laughlin, Lorraine Bray, Hank van der Veen, Joe Tartaglia, Ray Henshall, Wayne O’Neill and Jack Hewitt, while the pen awards went to the lovely Joan Foster and president Fred.

The next veterans event will be held at Tooleybuc on Tuesday, December 10 with a 9am assembly for a 9.30am start.
