Recruits to bolster Lions

The Hay Lions are aiming to improve on last season with the recruitment of talented players Kellie Walker, Toni Rivett and Maddie Mannes.

Coach Lani Houston, who will take the reins for the fourth season running, is excited about her new players.

“Toni Rivett and Kellie Walker are exceptional additions to our netball squad with not only strong netball skills but great leadership,” she said.

Hay finished the 2023 season at the bottom of the ladder, winning just one game for the season.

The club is hopeful they will turn their luck around this year.

“We are really aiming for A Grade to make finals this year and potentially a premiership,” Houston said.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Olivia Joyce. “Her intercepting ability and capacity to read the game, picking off passes into the goal circle is brilliant,” Houston said.

In: Kellie Walker (Mallee Eagles), Toni Rivett (Tyntynder), Maddie Mannes (Berrigan), Ruby Stewart.

Out: Ruby Cattanach, Emma Johnston, Katie Howard, Elle Jamieson.
