Dietetics support for Sea Lake

A NEW dietetics service has been launched at Mallee Track Health and Community Service (MTHCS) in Sea Lake for people needing support.

The service is in addition to the dietetics services being provided in the Ouyen region.

MTHCS said Karen Bulman had been funded through the primary health network to work in the community.

The service is free, and no referral is needed.

Director of community services Lyndal Munro said good nutrition could support people managing chronic illnesses including diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease, cancer, weight control and conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulitis and vitamin and mineral deficiency.

“A dietitian uses food and nutrition knowledge to provide personalised diet advice,” Ms Munro said.

“They can support paediatric and adult clients to manage their general health, as well as helping people who are impacted by chronic health conditions.”

Appointments can be made by contacting Ms Bulman at kbulman1@bigpond.com, calling 0419 573 690 or leaving a message at Lime Medical Clinic, Mildura, on 5023 5122.

Telehealth appointments are available.
