WHILE the registered vaccination rate for the Robinvale region is high at more than 95 per cent, pharmacist John Pisasale says this may well be a skewed figure.
There is a particularly large non-resident population who lived and worked in the region, who were not adequately measured by the 2016 Census.
While many of these people had been vaccinated, they may be statistically masking those who remained unvaccinated in the town.
“Generally many members of these communities were quite keen to be vaccinated and when they did they were registered as vaccinated people in Robinvale,” Mr Pisasale said.
In the 2016 Census, Robinvale’s population was recorded as 3313 residents, however according to an independent report by Geografia in September 201, there were between 7000 and 8800 people residing in the town.
