Visitor restrictions return to Swan Hill hospital

SWAN Hill District Health (SHDH) has reintroduced visitor restrictions as COVID cases continue to surge in the area.

Up to two visitors per patient, per day will be permitted onsite across the health service, with the exception of aged care and end-of-live care.

The restrictions commended at 8am this morning.

All visitors must be screened via the concierge at the front reception on Splatt Street.

Visitor, support persons and carers are required to provide evidence of fully vaccinated status and wear an n95 mask onsite at all times.

If unvaccinated, they are required to provide evidence of a negative RAT, or can be provided one on arrival to concierge. They are required to complete their RAT outside of the health service and report their negative result back to concierge upon completion and must also wear an n95 onsite throughout their visit.

Visitors for end-of-life care are not restricted with no time limits and no daily maximum number of visitors.

It comes as the hospital battles staff illnesses, with 26 staff unable to work due to illness.

There are 171 active cases in the Swan Hill region, an increase of 39 since Wednesday.
