Vaccines will be available on Monday, from 3pm to 6.30pm, at the council’s flu session.
Public health and regulatory services co-ordinator Trish Ficarra encouraged everyone to get vaccinated against the flu this year.
“The vaccine is strongly recommended for older people, pregnant women and those who work or live with people at risk, but everyone is being encouraged this year to book in and receive the vaccine,” she said.
The vaccine lasts up to one year and helps avoid illnesses that might arise from the influenza virus.
“Council has a large number of flu vaccines available and bookings are now available via our website,” Ms Ficarra said.
Influenza vaccine is free for people aged 65, from six months to four years old, and people with relevant medical conditions.
For other people, the cost is $26 and can be paid by card on the day.
The session will be held at the Swan Hill Town Hall and bookings are essential at www.swanhill.vic.gov.au/community/health/immunisations
