Neglected drainage system

UNAWARE or don’t care, maybe both.

The drainage system north of Swan Hill, owned by Goulburn Murray Water, once the pride of irrigators on Tyntynder Flats and envied by other irrigators, is now being lost to neglect.

No maintenance but still being paid for every year by landholders. You would think a small amount of the money collected could fund a spraying program, at least.

Water off is just as important as water on.

I was here to see the drainage system start, let’s hope I’m not here to see it go.
