NSW flood alert

The flood threat has increased along the Wakool and Edward Rivers following heavy rains in the Murray River catchment.

Before the weekend deludge only minor flooding along the Wakool and Edward River was predicted, but substantial flooding is now expected along the Wakool, Merran and Coobool Creek systems.


Moulamein rain

Moulamein recorded about 65mm of rain from Friday to Monday, but much heaver falls were experienced in surrounding districts.

For the first time in many years stormwater crossed the Moulamein-Swan Hill Road about 14km from Swan Hill.

Wakol Council workmen have placed warning signs either side of the stretch of water.

More roads in the Moulamein and Mellool districts are expected to close after the heavy rain and rising floodwaters.
