Tuesday, February 22
· The family of Alfred Edwards accused emergency services of leaving him to die in January. Mr Edwards collapsed from a suspected heart attack, but it took multiple calls to 000 from family members and local police over a period of more than 30 minutes to raise an ambulance.

· A group of 11 new junior doctors joined the team at Swan Hill District Health to undertake further training on rotation through specialities which include general practice, geriatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology and rural general medicine. The aim is to encourage them to consider practising in the region once they’re qualified.

· An illicit tobacco crop found at Koraleigh was destroyed as part of the Australian Taxation Office’s Operation Greyhound. The 250 tonnes of tobacco had been grown across more than 9ha and would have been subject to excise of $42 million if it had been legally grown. Growing tobacco in Australia was banned in 2006.

· A Melbourne man was jailed for three months and disqualified from driving for two years in Mildura after evading Swan Hill Highway Patrol officers and driving at police vehicles in a Robinvale caravan park. Two “high risk missing children” who had been staying with Narung Simen, 24, in a cabin at the caravan park were taken into safe custody.
