Friday, March 18

· The trial of Adrian James Basham began at the Victorian Supreme Court over the alleged murder of former Swan Hill resident Samantha Fraser. Ms Fraser’s estranged husband pleaded not guilty to murdering the mother of three after she was found dead in her Phillip Island home in July, 2018. Ms Fraser was a well-loved member of the Swan Hill community and was captain and dux of Swan Hill College.

· A decision to heritage-list the Pioneer Settlement forced Swan Hill Council to reassess how it moves forward with plans for a $10 million interpretive centre at the site.
