– CCTV images of missing South Australian woman Colleen South emerged of her at a Calder Highway service station. Ms South was reported missing on June 30 prompting an extensive search by police and the SES around the Wycheproof area were her car was found crashed in a ditch.

– Residents of a unit of Balranald’s main street were forced to escape after the building caught fire. It took multiple fire and rescue units more than two hours to control the blaze. No one was injured in the ordeal, and police investigated the cause of the fire.

Friday, August 12

– The search for missing South Australian grandmother Colleen South ended tragically with the discovery of her body near Wycheproof. Police confirmed Ms South’s body was found in a paddock about 5km from where she had crashed her car in a ditch on July 3.

– Swan Hill Ambulance Service records its slowest response time in years. Only 61.1 percent of code 1 priority cases from April to June were responded to in less than 15 minutes, compared to 67.7 percent from January to March this year. The latest statistics put the average response time for ambulances at 17 minutes and 21 seconds.
