Inglewood netball season preview

As far as coach Abbey Hayes is concerned, there is only one way for her girls to go – up.

Propping up the ladder for much of 2023, this is Hayes’ first full year as coach, after helping out during the previous season while playing as team captain.

And right now she thinks things are looking pretty good.

“We have had a good pre-season, and as well as our young players coming through, we have been able to pick up some new blood, particularly with people coming to the town, and now we are looking to gel as a playing group,” Hayes says.

“We have a team structure and a good game plan and that will only get better as we do more together

“What I think we are really looking for now is to be a lot more competitive than we were in 2023 and if the commitment and attitude of the team is anything to go by, that’s what we will be,” she added.

PLAYER TO WATCH

Emily Leach is a product of the club’s junior program, and she started playing A grade in 2023. She is described as “very coachable” and is a player who has improved a lot from last year and should be a force in attack.
