High-octane kart weekend

SWAN Hill Kart Club will have a big weekend hosting their annual open meeting, the Sun Centre Titles.

Starting on Saturday, the two-day event of high octane fun will be held at the Swan Hill Motorplex, west of Swan Hill on the Sea Lake Road.

The field will be made up of local drivers and many travelling from all areas of Victoria and interstate.

Entry is free and everyone is welcome to attend, with plenty of room on the fence to park the car if the weather is chilly.

All age groups will be catered for with more than 60 entries from age 7 up to senior levels.

Club committee member Paul Forster said one of feature of the Swan Hill track was the unique 15-degree angle half-circle “Thunderdome” corner, which provided an exciting racing experience for all competitors.

“It is the only one of its type in the country and possibly even the world which gives uniqueness to the track,” Mr Forster said.

“There will certainly be plenty of action over the weekend.”

This year marks the 40 year anniversary of the club’s formation.
