Festival is finally here

IT all happens this weekend.

Celebrate Moulamein Festival action starts with a free family film night at the football oval tonight.

The pre-school will be supplying movie treats for a fundraiser.

Then tomorrow morning, if you are up to it, yoga at 7am at the Moulamein Lake followed by a free breakfast supplied by our Moulamein Town Fire Brigade before you go on the colour run around our lake.

Then it is back to our brand new Moulamein Heritage Village for train rides, photo booth, historical films, stalls and much more.

This is all for free.

There will also be skin checks at a cost.

Then it is out to our Moulamein Race Club’s brand new pavilion that has not been used yet because of COVID and our record flood that we got this year.

There were no Christmas parties because of the floods, new year went through to the keeper because our harvest took so long and Australia Day was a bit of a fizzer in Moulamein. So this could be the big one, look out.

You do not have to come from Moulamein to join in our celebrations, it is for everyone in our district and beyond.

Come and join us in a well-deserved celebration in our little town.

Normally, there would be fireworks, but due to circumstances beyond my control, they will not be happening.

But, there is plenty else happening. Make sure you are in it.

Division 4 keeps top spot

OUR Division 4 mob kept up their winning streak this week to go into the finals on top of the ladder. Well done Division 4.

They play Lake Boga at Nyah this weekend. I wish them all the best but unfortunately, I will be tied up with our Celebrate Moulamein Festival.

Let’s hope the next time I watch you it is in the grand final.

Division 1 took on top-of-the-table Murray Downs on Saturday.

It was always going to be a tough day at the office against this mob.

Two ends to go we were three down. Bang, Puddy puts two ripper bowls down and picks up three shots.

One end to go. It is all even against Murray Downs. Bugger. One down on the last end. Two rinks up, one rink down. Down by one overall.

We are not far from getting there.

If you would like to play in the red and the white, give us a call.

The more bowlers, the better, as it is a very dangerous sport.

More bowlers die in a year than any other sports people. We like to live on the edge.

Good luck to Division 4 on Saturday.

School is back

OUR little tackers are now back at school. Please look out for them when driving through all towns.

Fishing report

CARP, carp and some bloody big carp.

At least my campers were able to get me some yabby bait.

The good news is that I think the yabbies are going in the Edward River.

Get a feed while you can because when the cod get sick of eating carp, they will clean the yabbies out of the rivers again.
