I DID not ask for much information at last week’s power lines meeting after I found out it was not going through our farm.
I have only been hearing on the grapevine bad news for rice growers if it goes through their fields
with the restrictions around the power line.
I just assumed it would be like every other power line that runs through our farms.
I cannot say too much until I find out more. This line will go through no matter what.
Only a minister can stop it from what I can find out.

Football and netball at home again this week
AFTER a week off due to the school holidays, we were back into football and netball again against Murrabit.
Our mighty magoos got up by three points, the seniors had a big win, A Grade netball went down by four points, B Grade beat the undefeated team and our Under 17s won by 21.
We are home again to our mates from Macorna.
It’s probably too wet to do any work in the paddock, so you may as well come in to cheer the mighty Swans on.
60km/h signs
WE have all seen the 60km/h signs out on the Deniliquin Road.
They seem to go on for miles so we all ignore them.
I had a mate come down for the weekend to watch the footy and catch up with a few old faces.
He slowed down when he first went through them, then thought, “Well, there is nothing here”.
Yep. The boys in blue decided to patrol that section of road on Saturday.
Some $500 and a few points later he got to see the Swans have a win.
For the same price, he could have had a night out in Melbourne and watch his beloved Cats win.
He should have because that could be the last win the Cats have for a couple of weeks given they meet the Bombers this week.
Here we go again
THE rivers are still rising as more water is released out of our storages.
So far it is about what is coming in is going back out. No need to hit that panic button just yet.
River levels
THE Edward River has continued to rise and is now around 3.3 metres and almost 4500 megalitres a day.
Our Edward will keep rising as there is almost 15,000ML at Deniliquin.
There is also more than 900ML still coming down the billabong and that will keep building up as there is more than 1000ML coming down the natural billabong above the controlled water at the Yanco Weir.
There are still more than 46,000ML at Yarrawonga and it looks like it may have levelled off at the time of writing.
