A-Grade coach Lauren Thompson said the Nullawil side would not be resting on its laurels after taking out the 2023 grand final in its debut season in the NCFNL.
“We’re not sure what to expect this year but our aim is to finish in the top four again,” Thompson said.
Despite finishing fourth on the home and away season ladder, the Maroons shot through the finals series to take out the coveted premiership, beating Boort by five goals on their home courts.
“The team remains stable with key defender Maddi Quigley the only major out and versatile Mackenzie Smith coming into the side to play either mid or defence,” Thompson said.
“We’ll be keeping a close eye on our opponents with particular focus on Birchip-Watchem, Boort, Wedderburn, and Sea Lake Nadaly as the teams to beat.”
Key player – Meg Hogan
Meg comes into the 2024 season hot off a strong pre-season preparation and will be extremely match fit.
Meg is a dynamic and fast player who can dominate in defence but also run through the centre if required.
