DONALD’S A-grade side head into the new season bolstered by a string of recruits, young players coming through ranks and a few mature players returning to the club.
Coach Xanthi Rice is also returning to A-grade coaching duties and said the side promised to be competitive, with finals the main goal.
“We have a couple of new recruits, including Jess White and Eilish Flagg, who will fill some gaps left by players who exited this year,” she said.
“Jess will move into the goals and Eilish is a nice, tall defender who reads the play well.
“It should be a competitive season with Nullawil and Birchip making good progress last year and we’ll be hoping to land ourselves another shot at finals this year.”
Player to watch – Scarlett Funche
Funche is a young player who made her A-grade debut last year.
She is a very athletic player who can switch from goals to centre and with a second year of senior level netball under her belt, will be key to the side’s success.
