NULLAWIL heads into the 2024 season with an air of confidence after playing in the grand final in 2023.
While the side was unsuccessful, there was much to be positive about for the team, who was making its NCFL debut after exiting Golden Rivers league.
Seasoned coach Daryl Wilson takes over the coaching helm from Brett Barker this year and comes with a wealth of experience.
Most notably, a coaching role with VFL side Bendigo Bombers and AFL central Victoria coach of the year 2004/2014 awards.
Barker will continue to don the boots for the Maroons.
Rylee Smith returns to the side after spending two seasons with Kerang in the CMFNL and long-term stable mates Mitch Farmer, Jordy Humphreys, Matt Quigley, Dean Putt, David Ibister, Daniel Watts and Kyle Doran have all re-signed.
Brothers Zac and Lucas Caccaviello and Dude and Sol Kelly will provide speed and strength around the ball, and the addition of Matthew Wade to the midfield will bring a wealth of skill and experience when he swaps one maroon guernsey (Swan Hill) for another.
The Maroons will benefit with a successful last season under their belt in terms of connection and consistency.
They promise to be a dynamic side across the field and should feature in the top four of the 2024 season.

I’m excited at the chance for a new challenge and a new chapter in my footy career at a club that has already been up and about.
That was very appealing and why I chose to come here.
One of our main focuses will be around developing the list we’ve got and there are some great quality players at Nullawil.
Part of the work we will be looking at is learning what stepping up to a new league requires, because the step up in quality of the league is substantial.
I’m very satisfied with the playing group and hopefully we can push forward to success.

Wade stands out in terms of experience and leadership skills and a strong resume of football success.
His strength in defence and the midfield will be a key addition to the side and his leadership within the playing group will be an advantage.
