St Arnaud netball season preview

ST ARNAUD didn’t have much success reflected on the season ladder last year but coach Dylan Perri said there was much to be positive about.

“It has been a period of building for us and that will continue this year also,” he said.

“We feel we have made a lot of improvements, including our fitness and we will be shooting for the stars and hoping for a top four ladder finish.

The side lost speedy mid-courter Sidney Dyer but has been able to account for the loss with several players returning to the side.

Chelsea Grabener is a mid-courter who will look to fill the gap left by Dyer. She is very fit and comes with experience.

Perri said the side was looking strong in defence and the inclusion of Aleisha Petri in defensive goals was a big gain.

“I think collectively we have a group of individuals who can do their part to bring success to the team,” Perri said.

Player to watch – Aleisha Petri

PETRI is a dynamic defender with extreme fitness on her side and experience behind her.

She’s a ball winner and reads the play well.

She can turn play around very quickly from defence to attack and the rest of the team will be aiming to provide support to capitalise on that.
