WEDDERBURN will be eager to take a step further this year after a disappointing finals series in 2023.
The Redbacks finished third on the season ladder but lost both of their finals matches, going down to Nullawil by just one goal, and allowing Nullawil a path to grand final victory.
Throughout the season, Wedderburn were only defeated by the two sides above them, Boort and Nullawill, proving they’re a serious contender.
Emma Lockhart returns to the coaching role, providing stability to the largely unchanged side that includes her three sisters, Grace, Aliza and Olivia.
With few changes to their line-up, only time will tell if it is enough to push them to the next level they will be actively seeking.
Player to watch – Meg Lowry
Lowry returns after taking a year break from the club but promises to take an even stronger leadership role within the team.
She will act as assistant coach and with years of playing experience with the Redbacks, will provide stability and a calm head in the heat of those close finishes.
