Swans’ winning streak continues

SWAN Hill’s A Reserve team have maintained their premiership streak, beating Mallee Eagles by just one goal in a thrilling game.

While the Eagles led by a goal or two for most of the low-scoring match, it came down to the dying seconds of the game, with the Swans getting the break they needed at just the right time to put them in front as the final whistle blew.

Swan Hill playing coach Jade Hunter said she was trying to be as positive and motivational for her teammates during the intense match as she could.

“At three-quarter time I literally pleaded to my team,” she said.

“But when the countdown was happening, I had a good feeling.”

This is now the fourth premiership for Swan Hill A Reserve in the past six years, after wins in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and being named minor premiers in 2021.
