Underdogs Swan Hill come out on top

DESPITE going in as the underdogs, the Swan Hill B Reserve side proved they had what it takes to claim the top prize, beating Cohuna by a comfortable 11 goals.

The Swans were in control from the start of the match, settling any grand final nerves to get three goals ahead of the Kangas by quarter-time.

The Swans were then able to push their lead out to seven goals by half-time, battling hard against a determined Kangas team and the unfavourable windy and wet conditions.

The scoreboard read 19-32 by the end of the third quarter, making the prospect of any late comeback very hard for the Kangas.

Swan Hill goal defender Rach Moloney, who played a pivotal role in her team’s win, was named best on court.
