A WEEK’S break did nothing to slow down Woorinen’s A Grade side, with a solid performance earning a 22-goal win over Tyntynder.
While the Dogs were able to match the Tigers in the first quarter, a poor second-quarter performance left them with a 12-goal deficit by half- time.
“The Tigers’ goaling end was very strong all day and were able to find the scoreboard a lot easier than us and capitalise on any turnovers,” Tyntynder acting coach Emma Smith said.
“There were plenty of promising passages of play, with the girls putting in 100 per cent in hot conditions.”
Tigers midcourters Jamiee Beasy and Arlie Atkinson did a powerhouse of work against their opponents Toni Rivett and Bridgette King, and were among the best players on the court.
Tigers playing coach Tayla Bennett said she was happy with how her team performed.
“We improved each quarter and worked hard to maintain a certain tempo all game,” she said.
FINAL WHISTLE:
Woorinen 57
Tyntynder 35
